About
About Houses of Stones
Created by Austin Belanger.
I'm Austin Belanger. Houses of Stones is where I keep the things I'm learning, building, and thinking about in one place I actually control.
I built this site because I wanted something on the internet that was mine — not another social-media profile, not a page controlled by somebody else's platform, and not something built around chasing whatever happens to be popular that week.
Some articles come from personal experience. Others start because I want to understand a subject better and end with me digging through research, data, and source material until I have something worth saying.
The goal is simple: build with purpose, keep learning, and leave behind something worth keeping.

The Name
Why “Houses of Stones”
The idea is pretty simple: anything worth keeping usually takes time to build. Skills. Discipline. Reputation. Health. Privacy. A business. Your name.
One stone by itself is not much. Stack enough of them the right way and eventually you have something that can stand for a long time. That is what this site is about.
The Work
What I Write About
Privacy, responsible firearm ownership, business, and personal responsibility. I write about subjects I actually use, study, care about, or believe are worth understanding better.
The Standard
Facts Before Performance
I do not expect everyone who lands here to agree with me. I do expect the argument to be honest. When an article depends on data or research, I want the sources there so you can look at them yourself.
If I get something wrong, it should be corrected. The point is to build a body of work that gets better over time — not pretend I have every answer on day one.
Still Building
More Than a Website
Houses of Stones is one part of what I am building. I'm also developing 45 North Property Services, a Northern Michigan business being built from the ground up.
The projects are different, but the principle behind them is the same: own the work, do it right, and build something that lasts.
